About me
I am a licensed Acupuncturist and certified Alexander Technique Teacher. I graduated with highest honors, earning a Master of Acupuncture (MAc) degree from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in 2015. I then went on to complete a one-year post-graduate residency at NUNM, a rare opportunity to assist in the student clinic, start my own private practice, and teach an elective class in the program (surprise: I taught Alexander Technique to acupuncture students!). I then went on to run the residency program as the AOM Residency Director at NUNM. Prior to my medical training, I taught the Alexander Technique privately and at Marylhurst University for over a decade.
I practice a gentle style of acupuncture, drawing from multiple Japanese styles. My training emphasized pulse diagnosis and palpation to determine the necessary treatment and shallow insertions or non-insertive needling techniques. I continue to be fascinated by the profound changes that are possible using a gentle treatment style.
The Alexander Technique has had a marked influence on my life and work. I am delighted to be able to share this work with others. I graduated from the Oregon Center for the Alexander Technique in 2003, after training for three years with Rebecca Robbins. I work with people of all ages and all walks of life to be able to do more with less effort and discomfort.
As of June 2023, I am taking a hiatus from private practice to return to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I feel that this path will give me the best skills and scope of practice to help my patients. If you would like a referral to another provider, please email me at [email protected].
